Lucerne Water Guide

The Swiss Toilet Organisation and the Swiss Environmental Foundation launched 2015 the Lucerne Water Guide. The central elements of the project were a reusable drinking bottle, a QR-Code and a Web-App containing the first digital directory of public fountains and public toilets of the city. The guide animated locals and visitors in Lucerne to drinking water from one of the more than 150 public fountains in the city, and helped to find public toilets. At the same time it created awareness of the global situation in terms of water consumption and access to drinking water and sanitation.

2017 the Lucerne Water Guide was transferred to the non-profit organisation Wasser für Wasser, who entered a partnership with the city of Lucerne to further develop the project as lucernewater.ch
